Russell-Canada

CSM Associate Professor/Nursing Programs Coordinator Dr. Karen Russell, right, and husband Tom stop on their early morning hike around Moraine Lake in Alberta, Canada, to enjoy the view. “Moraine Lake is a glacially-fed lake in Banff National Park and the stunning turquoise blue water color is due to the refraction of light off the rock flour [silt-sized particles of rock] deposited in the lake on a continual basis,” said Karen Russell. She spent two weeks in the Canadian Rockies and wants to share with her nursing students the importance of making time in your life to relax and enjoy the beauty of nature. “Nurses spend their lives taking care of others; we must be sure to take care of ourselves, too.”
