CSM Professor of Nursing Robin Young, third from left, paddles through a grade 4 rapid on the Youghiogheny River in Laurel Highlands, Penn. “This was the first whitewater raft trip with my kids and son-in-law—we wanted to try a new adventure and we did experience that,” said Young, who plans to explain to her CSM students that it is not a good idea to attempt this level of rapid without a guide. “We had a doctor (my daughter), me (nurse), son-in-law (former college football player) and two sons manage to flip a raft when we hit a rock through a grade 4 rapid.
